MEET THE BAND
Brightwood first connected through local jams and festivals, and because of a shared love of bluegrass music. They aim to bring vocal harmonies and instrumentation to the stage the same way they started -- with high stoke and lots of fun. It's about the journey, not the destination, and they're going to have a good time along the way!
SERIN BUSSELL

Inspired by Molly Tuttle, Lynn Morris, and Rhonda Vincent, Serin started singing and playing bluegrass guitar in late 2023, and has been having a blast ever since. Collaborating and learning with this great group keeps her motivated and the stoke high!
MADELINE SCHMIDT

Madeline began her fiddle journey in 2022 after falling in love with the wild solos and bright sound in folk, Americana, and bluegrass. The best part of making music is doing it together; building on everyone's unique ideas and creating a shared sound that really means something!
LIBBY SOMMER

From bluegrass to blues, rock & roll to pop, funk to R&B, Libby loves music that makes people feel deeply. She played bass guitar on and off for many years, but eventually decided to commit to the dobro, and started learning how to sing. Playing in a band with other women has been a long-time dream!
MELISSA TANGUAY

Melissa is a bluegrass enthusiast - playing in multiple bands and hosting Music from the True Vine on KBOO every 5th Saturday. She is a true bluegrass steward, supporting her fellow pickers and friends -- with a passion for bluegrass, banjo, and playing music in this great community!
